A Systematic Review of Excessive Speed Monitoring and Control System for Accident Prevention on Cameroon Highways

Road safety is still an important issue with road accidents among the leading causes of death accounting for more than 1.2 million fatalities and 50 injuries globally per year. Of these casualties, speeding a substantial contributing factor. Nowadays, speed reduction mainly achieved through law enforcement measures. The review aimed at examining different approaches used to control monitor excessive speeds on highways large particularly in Cameroon. A systematic search was performed Science Direct, Elsevier, google scholar, scientific research, Springer, ResearchGate, Scopus, PubMed databases. Furthermore, references selected articles were reviewed maximize rate found. details research generated using Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) flow chart. results show that 658 retried articles, duplicates 458 excluded 200 screened. total 61 40 screened from abstract full pdf text respectively. Finally, 15 relevant studies included study. revealed highway limited sanctioning defaulters fine payments.
